Analyticon Biotechnologies AG wins STEP Award 2011 in the category „Processes“

Analyticon Biotechnologies AG received the STEP Award 2011 in the category “Processes” at the STEP Award gala event on the 29th of November at the Commerzbank Tower in Frankfurt/Main. The prize was received by Wolfgang Meyer, Board member and CEO, from the two award presenters, Dr. Ulrich Betz, Merck Serono, and Jens Kruger, Hessian Ministry for Economics, Transport and Regional Development. Wolfgang Meyer gratefully accepted the award in the name of the complete Analyticon team.


The consequent reorientation convinced the jury

With the introduction of the Biolyzer line in the clinical chemistry business in 2009 Analyticon has reoriented its strategy from a purely manufacturer of reagents to a system provider and was able to generate a dynamic growth and to focus on a sustainable future.

Meanwhile, the company offers system solutions for diagnostic laboratories worldwide in the areas of clinical chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation, and hematology. Here the company concentrates on its core competence, which is in the development, production and adaptation of the reagents on the devices. In addition, also through cooperation with international technology leaders, Analyticon has developed a complete provider for small and medium-sized clinical laboratories worldwide.
The consistent conversion process of Analyticon from a pure manufacturer of reagents to a complete system provider, who places its systems worldwide and invests in long-term partnerships with the customers, was award-worthy in the opinion of the jury.

"We see the award as a confirmation that we are on the right track and it is also a tribute to all employees of Analyticon, who are working hard for the company's future." said Wolfgang Meyer.

 
About the STEP Award – Spirit to expand

The idea of the initiators is to assist innovative and growing companies with the “Spirit to expand” in their next “STEP” to the market and to trigger an important impulse for their successful development. In the focus of the award are companies that are active in the prospering fields of Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals, Life Science, Bio-/Nanotechnology, Medical Technology and Greentech.  In its sixth round, more than 100 companies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland have applied for the STEP Award, which demonstrates the value of the competition.
The main initiators of the STEP Award are the Commerzbank, the Deutsche Börse, the Hessen Agentur, Merck Serono, Sanofi-Aventis and TUV Hessen. Beside the main sponsors a number of around 30 other companies and institutions are supporting the price.
